*Olivier's La Boulangerie *is a French Artisan Bakery in BC, located in Coquitlam. Our team of Bakers, Packers, Sales, and Logistics work around the clock to produce and distribute bread and pastries without any chemical preservatives, GMO grain or high gluten elements to the entire lower mainland.
*Job Summary*
We are seeking a skilled and creative *Pastry Chef* with expertise in French baking and patisserie. The ideal candidate will bring creativity and technical skill to our bakery, producing a wide range of classic French pastries, viennoiseries, and desserts. They will lead our pastry team in maintaining the bakery's reputation for excellence, quality, and authenticity.
Please note that *shifts start early as 6 am*
*Responsibilities*
* Create, develop, and perfect traditional French pastries and desserts, including items like croissants, pain au chocolat, éclairs, macarons, tarts, and gateaux
* Oversee daily operations of the pastry section, including ingredient preparation, baking, decorating, and plating and ensure the highest standards of taste, texture, and presentation
* Maintain a consistent level of high-quality presentation and flavor in all products
* Train, mentor, and manage pastry staff to uphold quality and consistency in every product
* Order and monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, ensuring efficient inventory management
* Innovate with seasonal ingredients to offer fresh and exciting menu options while honoring classic French recipes
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards in the kitchen
* Experiment with new techniques and ingredients to keep our offerings fresh and exciting for guests
*Qualifications & Requirements*
* Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, or in a similar role
* Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification in baking and pastry arts is preferred
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques and recipes, with a particular focus on French cuisine
* Exceptional attention to detail, creativity, and artistic skills
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment
* Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
* Ability to be stand for long hours and lift up to 20 pounds
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37 ? 42 per week
