We are currently seeking a dedicated Mine Manager to join our team who will contribute to overall success of the Mine Site by managing personnel, overseeing production, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
*Job Summary: *The Mine Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that mining operations are conducted safely, efficiently and in compliance with regulations. This role involves managing a team of mining personnel, coordinating activities, ensuring production targets are met while prioritizing safety and environmental stewardship.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Supervision and Team Management:*
* Supervise and mentor workers performance and development
* Assign tasks. Set performance expectations, provide guidance and training
* Resolve conflicts and promote a positive work environment
* Check all worker competencies and provide training as required
* Develop a consistent and engaging sense or morale on site
* Collaborate with managers, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs
* Establish and communicate worker and subcontractor tasks, performance goals and deadlines
* Ensure all workers are in compliance with specifications, safety and environmental regulations
*Health, Safety and Environment:*
* Engage and support a safety culture of safety among all mine employees
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies and industry standards
* Analyze, manage, resolve and mitigate risks, on-site issues and emergencies
* Conduct safety meetings and inspections regularly to maintain a safe work environment
* Implement and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and emergency response plans
* Implement environmental best practices to minimize the impact of mining activities
* Participate in environmental assessments and mitigation efforts
* Collaborate with regulatory agencies to maintain compliance and obtain necessary permits
* Develop and maintain environmental management plans for the site
*Quality Control:*
* Manage quality control measures to ensure the extraction of high quality minerals
* Monitor product specifications and make adjustments as needed
*Production Management:*
* Oversee all mining activities including drilling, blasting, excavation and transportation of materials offsite
* Coordinate tasks according to priorities, plans and schedule
* Develop and execute production plans to meet target output levels
* Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed
* Supervise all workers, subcontractors and the use of all equipment
* Proactively plan, coordinate and communicate construction processes
* Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
* Preparation of reports pertaining to project status and progress
* Timely identification and capture of scope changes
* Prepare and submit daily activity and other reports as required
* Daily in-depth look ahead of project deliverables to mitigate problems and resolve any emerging ones
* Collaborate with site team and management on schedule development and planning to ensure milestones, targets and goals are achieved for: Production, Manpower, Equipment, Materials, Tools and Supplies, Subcontractors, Quality Control, Survey and other key elements as required
*Resource Allocation:*
* Optimize resource allocation, including manpower, equipment and materials
* Manage production schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime
* Meet all contractual conditions of performance
*Cost Control and Budgeting:*
* Assist in developing and managing the mining department budget
* Control costs and expenses while maintaining productivity
*Maintenance Oversight:*
* Ensure that mining equipment and infrastructure are well-maintained and perform regular inspections
* Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime
*Documentation and Reporting:*
* Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment usage and maintenance activities
* Prepare and submit regular reports to managemen
