We work on the Vancouver & North Shore Waterfront as well as Fraser River industries maintaining and repairing all types of ship loaders & conveyors, as well as working in chemical plants & refineries throughout the lower mainland. We do many specialty lifts as well, from large generator enclosures, to transformers and heavy machinery lifts on & off trucks. Compass has a dedicated and experienced team committed to providing quality work and solutions to projects of all sizes._ Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in training development and the ability to fabricate innovative safety solutions. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to comply with local, state, and federal regulations - Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions - Provide safety training to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE) - Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures - Collaborate with management to develop and maintain a culture of safety throughout the organization - Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and changes in safety regulations - Fabricate innovative safety solutions to address unique challenges within the workplace - Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field - Proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role - In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations - Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify potential hazards and recommend effective solutions - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to develop and deliver engaging safety training programs - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred We offer competitive compensation packages including benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.
