And we live it too.</span></p><strong>THE ROLE</strong><p><span>The Dance Instructor plans, organizes and delivers classes and prepares class schedules. The Dance Instructor assists in the design of recreational programs and implements changes as required, and they assist with advertising and public relations information, as required. The Dance Instructor will instruct and lead dance classes for different ages and ability levels, while ensuring safety for participants and providing emergency or first aid assistance as required, reporting incidents and taking corrective action where required. The Dance Instructor will set up and take down necessary equipment for each class. The Dance Instructor will be responsible for the administration of the dance program, including registration of participants, collecting fees, monitoring & recording attendance, preparing distributing and submitting evaluation forms for all class participants.</span></p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED</strong><p><span><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></p> <p><span>High school diploma AND some years experience conducting dance classes</span></p> <p><span>AND</span></p> <p><span>Specialty Dance Instructors Certificate or equivalent</span></p> <p><span>Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications</span></p> <strong><span><strong>Experience</strong></span></strong> <p><span>In planning, organizing, and delivering dance classes</span></p> <p><span>In monitoring and controlling large groups of participants</span></p> <p><span>In ensuring safety protocols and procedures</span></p> <p><span>In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail and Internet browsing</span></p> <p><span>Knowledge of instructional techniques, behaviour management, participant development, health and safety practices, Injury prevention, adaptive recreation techniques</span></p> <p><span><strong>Competencies, Skills and Abilities</strong> </span></p> <p><span>Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership. </span></p><strong>LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS</strong><p><span>English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset</span></p> <p><span>Reading: None</span></p> <p><span>Writing: None</span></p> <p><span>Oral: Functional</span></p><strong>BENEFITS AVAILABLE</strong><p><span><strong>Health Benefits:</strong> Employee and Family Assistance Program.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Work Life Balance:</strong> Vacation pay.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Retirement Planning:</strong> Group Savings Plans.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Learning and Development:</strong> Free second language training.</span></p><strong>OTHER INFORMATION</strong><p><span>This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.</span></p> <p><span>The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.</span></p><strong>START DATE</strong><p><span>November 25, 2024</span></p><strong>INCLUSION AND ACCOMMODATION</strong><p><span><span><span>CFMWS is committed to providing an inclusive, equitable and accessible environment, where all employees feel valued, respected and supported.
