*Role Overview:*
Reporting to the Director of Operations or designated leader, the *Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) *will be expected to work daily with clinical and administrative team members to ensure that Aveiro Sleep is delivering the highest level of clinical care and support to current and prospective patients. Our patients are at the center of everything we do.
Position to be based out of Calgary, AB.
*Key Responsibilities:*
Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT)
* Review patient history, symptoms, and prescription for Home Sleep Apnea Testing.
* Set up and educate patients on sleep testing equipment.
* Conduct knowledgeable and clear instructions for equipment usage.
* Complete medical questionnaires, obtain patient consent, and ensure appropriate data storage.
* Review and report on HSAT data, liaising with other clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely reports to physician offices.
CPAP and Alternate Therapy (Fitting and Follow-up)
* Set up and educate patients on CPAP therapy and treatment.
* Titrates CPAP pressure for optimal effectiveness and patient comfort.
* Present, fit, and complete mask sales.
* Download, analyze, and interpret CPAP data.
* Ensure proper cleaning and reprocessing of equipment.
* Charting, report writing, and follow-up with patient compliance.
* Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance.
* Educate and initiate alternate treatment methods as required for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
* Conduct Pulmonary Function Testing, including Spirometry, Lung Volumes, and Diffusion Capacity.
* Perform equipment calibrations and verifications to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
* Maintain quality assurance through coaching, thorough charting, and proper documentation.
* Identify and respond to critical values promptly and accurately.
* Record patient data, including vitals and medical history, in the EMR system.
* Set up, monitor, and maintain diagnostic devices for Level 3 sleep studies, including post-study data download and equipment upkeep.
* Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with technical support.
* Educate patients on Level 3 sleep studies, providing clear at-home instructions.
Patient Education
* Facilitate one-on-one and group education sessions and deliver informative lectures for patient education events.
* Inform and educate patients and family members on Obstructive Sleep Apnea, CPAP therapy, and other alternative therapies*.*
Additional Responsibilities
* Effectively communicate with supervisors, physicians, and co-workers.
* Manage stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
* Contribute to clinical and business improvement opportunities.
* Provide support at different clinic locations to assist with business initiatives.
*Qualifications:*
* Current registration and good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta.
* Strong focus on clinical excellence, patient care, and engagement.
