*Job Description:*
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for assembling, developing and designing mechanical systems in conjunction with our controls team members.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Completes on-time quality work with minimal supervision.
* Troubleshoots electrical controls and mechanical mechanisms.
* Works within project timelines and budgets.
* Available to work overtime and participate in installation at customer site (domestic and international travel).
* Communicates professionally and effectively with coworkers and customers.
* Follow all BCCI policies and adhere to our health and safety protocols and procedures.
* Able to work independently and within a team.
* Create/update technical drawings, assembly procedures, test plans and other design documents.
* Ability to design, install and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
* Track all modifications to the drawing package.
* Works with the electrical build and programming departments to coordinate final development of machinery.
* Communicates the status of their projects and any issues and solutions found.
* Uses their experience and the experience of other team members to propose pneumatic and hydraulic solutions that will effectively integrate new systems to existing industrial systems.
* Demonstrated experience with SOLIDWORKS or AutoCAD
* Complete general and any other tasks as assigned.
*Education & Experience:*
* Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Specialized Experience
* 2-5 years experience (preferred)
* Understand how to troubleshoot and build industrial control systems.
*Qualifications & Skills:*
* AutoCAD (asset)
* Experience using SOLIDWORKS
* A driven individual who has effective problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently, within a team environment and actively participate in team meetings.
* Ability to use technology, resources, and time in an efficient matter.
* Must be able to lift 50+lbs and carry 40+lbs.
* Proven experience with using hand tools for electrical and mechanical adjustments.
* Project management.
* Strong communication with customers and suppliers.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety protocols and procedures.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and have excellent computer skills.
* Lockout Tag out, Standard First Aid/CPRC, Fall Protection (asset).
