The Indian Head Agricultural Research Foundation (IHARF) is seeking a passionate and dynamic Field Scale Research Agronomist! This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to collaborate with innovative minds and contribute to cutting-edge research projects that help shape the future of farming in Western Canada.?Key Responsibilities:?Project Development & LeadershipCraft compelling project proposals for research and demonstration initiatives that push the boundaries of agricultural science.Collaborate with fellow researchers and agronomists to generate creative project ideas and develop rigorous protocols.Effectively prepare budgets for diverse projects, ensuring all necessary resources are allocated wisely.Develop comprehensive project protocols that outline objectives, crop management strategies, treatment plans, data collection methods, and more.Serve as a vital liaison, coordinating efforts among researchers, growers, agronomists, and representatives to ensure seamless project execution.?Field Research ExcellenceTake the lead in coordinating field activities, including seeding, spraying, treatment applications, plot maintenance, data collection, and harvest.Analyze and interpret research data, translating findings into insightful reports for funders, collaborators and growers.Conduct ongoing field scouting to ensure plot quality, making necessary adjustments to support project success.Collaborate with a team of research personnel and partner organizations to develop comprehensive project reports.?Technology Transfer & OutreachCreate engaging reports, presentations, posters, and factsheets that effectively communicate study findings to diverse audiences.Share your findings through dynamic presentations at field days, seminars, and extension events to inspire and educate the farming community.Represent IHARF at important meetings and engage with stakeholders to promote our research initiatives.Collaborate with IHARF team members to design and deliver impactful technology transfer events.?Qualifications:Master's degree in Soil Science, Plant Science, Agronomy, or a related field.Strong understanding and experience in Western Canadian farming practices.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to connect with both the research community and agricultural producers.Proficient in experimental design and statistical analysis, with hands-on experience in field research.A valid driver's license and the ability to work independently while providing strong leadership in a collaborative team environment.Exceptional time management skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Must be, or be eligible to be, registered as a Professional Agrologist with the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists.?Why IHARF?By joining IHARF, you will become part of a dedicated group committed to advancing agricultural research and supporting local producers.
