Pinnacle Wholesale Foods Inc., is a Western Canadian owned and operated Food Service Distributor and is currently looking to hire a permanent, full-time, city and area delivery driver.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Ensure that all deliveries are completes in an accurate and timely manner.
· To establish and maintain good working relationships with our customers and vendors.
· To drive safely and observe all motor vehicle laws at all times.
· Operate and use both manual and powered equipment in a safe and responsible fashion.
· Assist in orderly and accurate order picking as needed in the warehouse.
· Loading of product into vehicle in a prompt, organized and secure fashion.
· Observe safe, temperature controlled food handling procedures at all times.
· Ensuring that proper health and safety protocols are followed at all times.
· Ensure that all orders, both delivered and received are checked for damages, accuracy and fill rates.
· Maintain continual open communication with main office throughout the shift.
· To observe and report any anomalies or damages of product, equipment, vehicles and all other company assets.
· To securely handle, organize and submit all paperwork daily while maintaining document confidentiality.
Specific Tasks:
· Delivery of food, packaging and chemicals to our customers in the food service industry using a temperature controlled cargo van or 5-ton truck.
· Assist with some order picking, if required.
· Loading and unloading of own truck with or without assistance.
· Assist with routing of your deliveries and having critical decision making while on the road to reroute as needed to ensure various deadlines and time calls are met.
· Daily pick-ups from our vendors that will include both pre-ordered dock loaded or manual picking/purchasing products.
· Completion of daily pre and post shift check sheets.
· Ensure vehicle is fully unloaded, cleaned (interior and exterior), fuelled, maintained and is properly prepared at the end of the day for the next shift.
Employment Requirements:
· A clean drivers abstract with minimum of 5 years? experience with a class 5, non-probationary, Alberta registered license.
· Must be at least 27 years of age and be a permanent resident of Canada.
· Previous experience within the food service industry is strongly preferred.
· Minimum 3 years driving experience in Calgary.
· Previous 5-ton experience is required.
· Familiar with City of Calgary roadways.
· Forklift training is an asset, but not required.
· Must be ready and willing to work an average of 50 hours per week with shifts ranging from 6 to 12 hours daily, with the possibility of alternate Saturday?s.
Wages and Benefits:
· $21.00 - $23.00 per hour based on experience. (50 hour work week, with an average of 2-7 hours overtime/week). Average Annual Wages $55,000 - $65,000.
· Extended medical and dental benefits after 3-month probationary period.
