*Job Description*
Monument group is seeking Civil Engineering Technician/Technologist to join our engineering team. In this position you will be responsible for the design of municipal engineering projects including but not limited to subdivisions, site plans, capital works and storm water management.
*Responsibilities*
* Producing Preliminary and Detailed Engineering drawings sets
* Operate Civil 3D using: Horizontal Alignments, vertical profiles, assemblies, corridors, gravity/pressure networks and creating proposed ground surfaces
* Importing survey data to create base plans.
* Horizontal and vertical road design
* Grading Design and Cut/Fill analysis
* Sanitary, storm and watermain design and calculations including developing design sheets, drainage area plans
* Produce and design Erosion and sediment control plans
* Assist in engineering reports and writing construction specifications as required
* Quantity takeoffs and Cost estimates
* Creation of layout file for the survey team
* Periodic site inspections as required
* External coordination/communication with clients and other stakeholders as required
* Ability to prioritize multiple projects
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Work Experience & Qualifications*
* 2-5 years of experience
* Strong proficiency in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft office
* Graduate of a Civil Engineering technician/technology program
* Familiarity of design standards and construction specifications such as OPSS/OPSD, TAC, OTM, MECP and local municipal/conservation authority guidelines
* High Understanding of surveying and geomatics
* Valid Driver?s License
Successful candidates must be able to pass a police background check.
