Position: *Physiotherapist*

We are looking for a *Physiotherapist *to provide treatment, advocacy and intervention to assist individuals to achieve and maintain independence in all facets of their life.
*Position Overview*
The Physiotherapist works with an interdisciplinary team to provide health care to the clients we serve, including complex seniors, people with physical/mobility disabilities, youth, and other complex populations. The Physiotherapist takes into consideration the social determinants of health within a model of care which emphasizes prevention, health promotion, health education and participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services for clients and the Vibrant community. The Physiotherapist is responsible for supporting the organization?s mission values and objectives while working in accordance with relevant legislation and standards of medical practice.
*Responsibilities:*
* Ensure that appropriate treatment is delivered by assessing and treating clients using recognized hands-on physiotherapy techniques, conducting functional evaluations, educating clients and managing their care using health education/counselling techniques and other physiotherapy activities, according to the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
* Maintain complete and accurate client records, assessment notes and required correspondence.
* Ensure up to date chart documentation and data entry, participate in chart reviews, case conferences, peer consultation and make appropriate internal and external referrals.
* Provide ongoing consultation, coordination, liaison and referral to other agencies, institutions and health care professionals.
* Ensure physiotherapy areas, resources, materials and equipment are maintained.
* Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, primarily for clients with chronic neurological conditions, including spinal cord injury and older adults with acute and chronic musculoskeletal dysfunction
* Recommend strategies to individuals and groups regarding ways to optimize functional skills, abilities, safety, and accessibility in the home and the community.
* Contribute to identifying needs within the community and participating in the development of new programs which address those needs.
* Contribute to programs and services cycle of planning and evaluation, and participate in organizational planning, committees, and staff meetings as appropriate.
* Develop partnerships and alliances to optimize health care service provision and address the needs of the community.
* Support the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of Vibrant Healthcare and ensure that organizational accountability systems are implemented.
* Maintain and further professional competence and knowledge relevant to practice through appropriate continuing education activities (i.e. peer interaction, literature review, conferences, courses, educational leave, professional association membership).
*Qualifications*
* Master of Science in Physiotherapy from a recognized university, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
* Registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
