*About Us:*
Sheridan College has partnered with the Canadian College of Technology and Trades (CCTT) to address the significant shortfall of skilled workers in Ontario. Sheridan at CCTT is committed to delivering industry specific training to support local labour market needs and provide growth skills to neighbouring regions. We are currently seeking a responsible and vigilant Lifeguard to ensure the safety of CCTT students using the pool. The Lifeguard will oversee all swimming activities, enforce safety regulations, respond to emergencies, and provide a welcoming environment for pool users. This is a part-time position and the Lifeguard will oversee students who are authorized to use the pool for 6 hours a week.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Monitor activities in and around the pool area to prevent accidents and ensure safety compliance.
* Enforce all pool rules and regulations, including behavior, and equipment usage.
* Administer basic first aid and CPR in the event of an emergency.
* Ensure that all pool users are adhering to the scheduled hours and that only authorized students are in the pool area.
* Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pool area, equipment, and surrounding areas.
* Complete daily checklists
* Report any hazards, incidents, or issues with pool equipment to Sheridan at CCTT management and/or assigned staff.
*Required Skills and Qualifications:*
* Must hold a current lifeguard certification, including CPR.
* Knowledge of swimming pool safety regulations and emergency procedures.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with pool users.
* Ability to remain calm and act swiftly in emergency situations.
* Must be reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a regular 6-hour weekly shift.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required, including moving rescue equipment or assisting distressed swimmers.
* Must be able to remain alert and focused for extended periods while on duty.
* Previous experience as a lifeguard or in a similar role is an advantage but not mandatory.

Expected hours: 6 ? 8 per week
