Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Inspect repaired vehicles
  • Professionalism in customer service
  • Test drive vehicles for proper handling
  • Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
  • File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
  • Repair or replace interior components
  • Mix paint, blend and match colors
  • Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes
  • Train to maintain high levels of technical proficiency
  • Computer-aided design (CAD)
  • Install exterior prefabricated products
  • Create two-dimensional (2-D) drawings with computer-aided design (CAD)

  • Automotive technicians/motor vehicle mechanics
