*Location: *Edmonton, Alberta *Position: *Permanent / Full-Time *Positions Available:* Day Shift - 2 / Night Shift - 4 / Weekend Shift - 2 _*Waiward Industrial LP is a unionized shop offering the highest paid wages in the industry! With the support of our leadership team and peers, our people are encouraged to share their perspectives. *Job Purpose* The Shipper is responsible for ensuring that completed projects are shipped to the correct destination. *Roles and Responsibilities* * Displays a commitment to Waiward?s incident-free vision, values, and culture. * Work effectively as a member of a team and coach other shippers and helpers. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Familiar with safe work practices. * Perform pre-use inspections on forklift. * Fuel the forklift when needed and complete requisitions for any maintenance problems. * Pick up material, travel and place material safely and in the appropriate spot. * Receive instructions on priority jobs and complete accordingly. * Ensure finished loads meet all safety and legal requirements. * Barcode pieces/ identify material. * Check drawings and ensure that correct pieces are included in load. * Load trailers/pre-stack loads on the ground. * Follows and meets schedules. * Demonstrate computer skills printing bar codes, load lists and missing pieces reports. * Prepare reports for next shift. * Attend toolbox meetings. * Report personal injuries, no matter how minor, and obtain medical attention as required. * May perform other related duties as assigned. *Qualifications* * High School Diploma preferred. * Certified Overhead Crane Operator preferred. * Basic and/or Advanced Rigging course preferred. * 1 to 3 years of related experience considered an asset. * Basic knowledge of Windows applications preferred. * Must be able to lift a minimum of 45 pounds. * FLHA Training. * Certified Forklift Operator an asset. * WHMIS. *Working Conditions* The incumbent is required to work in a shipping yard with moderate noise. *Physical Requirements* The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time and will require good physical attributes for walking on uneven ground, climbing, confined space entry, limited lifting, and sitting. *Direct Reports* None _*\*Waiward is an equal opportunity employer.
