Tasks: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Machinist Trade Certification. Machinist Red Seal Endorsment. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Gauges. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Engine lathes. Milling machines. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Attention to detail.
