Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Shop fabrication. Tasks: Manufacture and assemble in the factory the ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning and ventilation. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Operate plasma cutters. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Read blueprints and drawings. Welding techniques: Gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG). Resistance or spot welding. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication and layout. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads.
