*Job description*
_We are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing modular assemblies and complex stampings for body-in-white, drive-train, interior and seating applications for the automotive industry. We are looking for a __*Manufacturing Engineer *__to join our team at our Brampton, ON facility._
*Position Overview:*
Leverage manufacturing and product engineering experience to drive best practices and standardization to maintain stability while balancing the need for creativity and innovation while ensuring sustained production efficiency to ensure meeting customer needs or requirements.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods.
* Analyses and plans work force utilization, space requirements and work flow, and designs layout of equipment and work space for maximum efficiency.
* Develop, write, and maintain process specific documentation including; PFMEAs, Operator Standard Work Instructions, Preventative Maintenance Plans, Process Sheets.
* Make recommendations of modifications to fixtures and tools to support quality and continuous improvement exercises.
* Generate and maintain Process performance metrics including (OEE & Production Efficiency).
* Justifying capital expenditures for process improvements and new product introductions.
* Confers with planning and design of staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
* Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
* Applies statistical and other methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
* Learn, obey and practice the health and safety policies of the company.
* Maintain high level of housekeeping.
* Perform other duties that may be assigned.
*Qualifications and Skills:*
* Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or one or two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* General PLC Controls, Ladder Logic Understanding.
* Welding application and theoretical knowledge.
* Tooling knowledge and skill set.
* Process engineering knowledge.
* Robotics knowledge.
