*Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our wonderful dental team in Sooke BC. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise and strong communication skills. *Duties* * Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials. * Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as required. * Maintain patient records using dental software Tracker, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. * Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. * Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow to ensure efficient operations. * Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. * Provide support in pediatric dentistry, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. * Collaborate with the dental receptionist to handle administrative tasks as needed. *Qualifications* * Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred; familiarity with CAD, medical terminology, and orthodontics is a plus. * Proficiency in using dental software. * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages. * Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is advantageous. * Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times. * Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred.
