<p>Job Summary & Responsibilities <p> <p><p>Abbotsford Middle School is a grade 6-8 International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program school with 690 students. IB training and experience is an asset, but not a requirement for the job. Our school goals are based on Literacy, Numeracy, Social-Emotional Learning, and Innovative Pedagogy.<p> <p>*This opportunity is a temporary UFN contract, which is subject to change or cancel before June 27, 2025. In the event the teacher returns to work (work-hardening, part-time, full-time) before the end of the school year, the duration and/or FTE of this temporary assignment will be amended. The successful applicant must accept the reduced work week (amended to a part-time contract) but will have the option to remain in a temporary 1.0 FTE contract by working as a Priority TTOC on other days until June 27, 2025. <p> <p>Education & Experience<p><p> Major/minor in English, Science, French <p> Experience teaching English Language Arts, Science, and French Immersion at the Middle school level<p> Major practicum work in French Immersion<p> Ability to demonstrate fluency in written and spoken French, plus a good working knowledge of English <p> Eligible for B.C. Certification <p> Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reports<p><p>Teaching Competencies<p><p><p>All teachers are expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:<p><p><p><p> Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of others in a tactful, compassionate and respectful manner. <p> Organization & Planning: Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation and assessment <p> Classroom Management: Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics. <p> Facilitation & Engagement: Ability to capture and maintain students? interest, effort, participation and enthusiasm for both the content and the process of learning <p> Assessment & Coaching: Utilize balanced assessment and feedback to improve student learning including the use of formative and summative assessment strategies. <p> Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to achieve group goals and objectives <p> Caring & Inclusiveness: Create and maintain an environment that is caring, inclusive and supportive of all students <p> Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility in the ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances <p><p>View Teaching Competencies Detail- LocationAbbotsford, BC
