<p> <p> <p> <p>POSTED: November 21, 2024 <p>CLOSING DATE: November 28, 2024 <p>COMPETITION # 2024-129 <p> <p> <p> <p>INTERMEDIATE TEACHER <p>Part time (.2 FTE) position<p>Westcot Elementary School<p>Effective immediately until the return of the incumbent teacher<p> <p>The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.<p> <p>Required Qualifications and Experience <p>This position is to cover for an absent teacher. The successful applicant for this position must have:<p><p> A clear understanding of the characteristics of the intermediate student and the ability to develop a positive learning environment addressing the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of intermediate students<p> Demonstrated ability and experience to teach, assess and plan an intermediate program <p> A wide repertoire of strategies addressing assessment (formative, summative, peer and self) <p> A proven ability to frame the curriculum and classroom management around equity, diversity, inclusivity, and reconciliation <p> Knowledge and experience in working with learners with varying needs and support staff; demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction in the classroom <p> Hold a valid BC teaching certificate <p> Demonstrated knowledge and experience with AIMS Gesture French or TPRS program<p> Knowledge and experience in adapting learning objectives and strategies to meet the needs of English Language Learners at varying needs <p> Strong interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills and proven ability and commitment to work cooperatively and effectively with other educators <p> An understanding of the First People?s Principles as they relate to the curriculum and our local context <p> A willingness to support and enhance ADST and innovative learning at the intermediate level<p> Knowledge and proven experience in the area of technology (the ability to integrate various technologies into the curriculum, modes of assessment, and its use for student adaptations<p><p> <p>Why West Vancouver Schools? <p>West Vancouver Schools, the premier place for learning, has a long-held reputation for excellence and innovation.
