The ECEC Manager must ensure the development, health and safety of the children are priority and in compliance with the BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and relevant Provincial legislation, policies, and procedures. The ECEC Manager is responsible for keeping current, accurate and confidential client and program files. The ECEC Manager will manage the ECEC budget and record-keeping, report on expenditures and revenues, and supervise daycare staff. REPORTING STRUCTURE Reports to the Director of Education, Language and Culture SUPPORTS NEEDED Develop and implement a strong Early Childhood Education program to support the physical, emotional, and intellectual development of young children Provide Early Childhood services to parents/daycare, childcare, Head Start, and afterschool children Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained, and safe Ensure culturally appropriate programs and activities Ensure acceptable disciplinary policies are in place Oversee and manage safety and emergency procedures ensuring complianceSupervise and manage daycare staff Recruit and onboard daycare staff; supervise, coach, and encourage staff Evaluate staff performance Take corrective action when necessary Assess training needs Provide opportunities for training and developmentADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities, and their child?s progress Develop and maintain current, accurate, and confidential client files Prepare and monitor the daycare budget Manage registration of children for preschool and daycare programs Provide ECE support for programs as required All persons employed by the Okanagan Indian Band may be required to assist the Band in providing emergency services. Duties assigned during an emergency may differ from regular duties. Participate in community events as requested Abide by the Early Childhood Educators of B.C. Code of Ethics Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the OKIB policies and procedures Performs other duties as required DIRECT REPORTS Room Supervisors and staff (ECE workers, Bus Driver, Cook, Custodian, Supported Child Development Workers) WHO ARE WE LOOKING FORYou have education, experience, or carry a willingness to learn. You are community-minded, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator.Education Bachelor of Arts in Education or related discipline Early Childhood Education Certification and license to practice from the B.C. Early Childhood Educator Registry Infant Toddler Training and/or related experience Special Needs Training Current Childcare First Aid Certificate An equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredExperience Strong working
