*Job Summary*
*Canadian Network Installations, CNI*, has been a proud national vendor partner supporting telecommunication Carriers across Canada for over 24 years. CNI offers infrastructure support, solutions, and network build in both wired and wireless sectors across Canada. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals who possess the skill, attitude, and passion to join our dynamic team in *North Bay, Ontario* as a *Telecom Support Technician*.
The position requires an individual who embraces CNI?s culture of maintaining and providing our clients a high level of quality, service and safety standards while maintaining client targets. As a dedicated technician on site, you will be representing Carrier services on a secure Government of Canada facility. The position runs 24/7, 365 days a year and is shared amongst other dedicated technicians under a scheduled continental shift. Telecom infrastructure maintenance, network cabling, power & space management including physical installation / removal of network equipment and hardware all within the facility. Please note, the position requires that candidates have or are able to receive their secret level security clearance prior to engaging in the position.
*Potential candidates should possess most of the following attributes:*
* Ensure execution of best practices and standards are adhered within the Government of Canada?s facility.
* When required, oversee and/or complete moves, adds and changes for IT infrastructure and associated devices. (IT facilities and infrastructure items include and are not limited to IP telephony power over ethernet switches, routers and any associated passive or active cabling, throughout the facility.
* Ensure work is documented and recorded for distribution and compliance.
* Engage with and coordinate activities that may require sub-trades. (if applicable)
* Ability to effectively handle both favorable, and unfavorable, customer interactions.
* Demonstrated ability to identify problems and situations, take appropriate action implement solutions or escalate as required
* Process and ensure completion of all customers initiated and internally initiated change requests to ensure SLA is met
* Commit to continuous learning. Demonstrate the ability to learn and apply learned skills to related situations
*Other duties and Required skills.:*
* This roll as mentioned is to cover the facility 24 hours a day 7 days a week and runs on a 12-hour continental shift. Prearranged work scheduling is shared within the team and visibility of the schedule is in advance.
* Excellent verbal and written English communications skills are a pre-requisite
* Knowledge of legacy Option 11, 61 and 81 Nortel PBX systems
* Knowledge of current VOIP systems including Cisco, Avaya
* Knowledge of POE switching as it relates to phone system applications and how to test.
* Working knowledge of ISDN, T1/T3, ATM, private line data, and channel banks
* LAN/WAN networks
* WAN equipment & related hardware
* Tl, Fractional T 1 , Frame Relay, ATM, XDSL and ISDN services
* Cat 5e/6 and fiber structured cabling systems
* PABX interfacing and signaling
* Installation, maintenance, or testing /analysis of network elements
* Required Skills & Abilities:
* Strong people skills

* Work with sophisticated clients through strong interpersonal skills
* Time management and organizational skills
* Decision making skills to determine the most appropriate solutions
*Required Professional Designation/Certification:*
* Strong understanding of Avaya VoIP phone systems along with cabling infrastructure design and implementation would be a great asset.
