Heritage House Assisted Living in Oliver, BC is looking for a full time cook to join our team! If you want to break out of the traditional mold and experience a refreshing environment, join us at Heritage House, developed and owned by Benchmark Lifestyles. Qualifications ? Minimum of Grade 12; ? Graduate of culinary institute or equivalent combination of experience and training. ? Extensive experience in volume food preparation. ? Good command of English both orally and in writing. ? Familiar with provincial health & safety regulations. ? Ability to organize and prepare appealing meals in response to the changing needs and preferences of clients. ? Solid understanding of customer centered service provision consistent with the Benchmark standard of service philosophy and in support of exemplary food service delivery. ? Ability to adhere to the philosophy, mission statement and policies and procedures of Benchmark Lifestyles Inc. / Heritage House. ? Food Safe Level II is required. ? Motivational skills ? Must be able to successfully pass a criminal record check. The Head Chef will demonstrate personal attributes consistent with the following: ? Maintains strict confidentiality in performance of duties. ? Shows respect to others. ? Demonstrates honesty and integrity. ? Has a strong work ethic. ? Shows cultural awareness and sensitivity. ? Supports teamwork and is flexible. Job Type: Full-time Pay: Up to $26.44 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Discounted or free food * Extended health care Flexible language requirement: * French not required Schedule: * 8 hour shift Ability to commute/relocate: * Oliver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Experience: * Cooking: 1 year (preferred) Licence/Certification: * Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred) Work Location: In person- LocationOliver, BC
