Regional District of Central OkanaganParks Team Lead - Facilities & ConstructionDo you have experience in coordinating facilities maintenance, operations, and capital construction projects? If so, we want you on our Parks Services Team!As the successful candidate as Parks Team Lead - Facilities & Construction, you will be responsible for coordinating facilities maintenance, operations, and capital construction projects. This position also provides functional direction and oversight in the delivery of routine park operations and maintenance duties throughout all RDCO Parks Departments service programs.You will:1. Assists in the implementation and completion of multiple construction projects within budget, and with varying degrees of complexity, and time schedules, within RDCO parks, and community halls.2. Coordinates with contractors for completion of regular preventative maintenance and repairs of parks facilities and community halls.3. Provides functional guidance and mentorship to parks personnel, summer students, relief employees and contractors.4. Assists in providing asset condition inspections and feedback into the parks asset management program.5. Assist with the procurement process and overseeing project budgets where applicable.6. Assists in the planning, preparation, coordination of materials and equipment, to complete in-house projects and maintenance as needed in consideration of other project priorities.7. Assist in preparing schedules, budgets and estimates for construction and facilities maintenance projects.8. Assist in inspecting work completed by contractors and consultants on capital construction projects.9. Assist in ensuring that completed projects are adequately handed off to the appropriate responsible parks division.10. Assist in conducting park and facility safety inspections.11. Provide general information to park visitor inquires.12. Support parks operations on an as needed basis.13. Assist other parks staff in coordinating with volunteers and community groups regarding volunteer parks projects.14. Other related duties as assigned. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 4 years experience and post-secondary education in a technical trade related to parks, building maintenance and construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You will also have your Wildlife Danger Tree Assessor Certificate, be a Canadian Certified Playground Inspector (CPSI), and have a valid BC class 5 drivers? license. In addition, you will have knowledge of WorkSafe BC legislation, construction inspection, project management, as well as safe and efficient operations of small-scale construction equipment.This is a CUPE 338 position that works 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm and requires some schedule flexibility.
