Our team of Supply Chain and Logistics experts speaks your language and operates in your world.</p><p>We are looking for a Bilingual Operations Manager, for our client in the shipping industry, located in the Old Port of Montreal. <br> <br>Responsibilities: <br> <br>- Collaborate effectively with diverse teams, demonstrating leadership to achieve common goals. <br>- Supervise a technician to ensure equipment compliance with operating standards. <br>- Assess risks related to port activities and mooring arrangements, ensuring safe marine operations. <br>- Monitor ship operations at various terminals to identify inefficiencies ashore. <br>- Collaborate with navigation management to ensure operational resilience, particularly in cargo management and navigation. <br>- Provide technical expertise for new developments and continuously improve operations. <br>- Participate in ship-to-ship operations, monitor loading and unloading, and investigate incidents to improve performance. <br>- Assist the department manager in developing operations in new ports and with new suppliers. <br>- Liaise between LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) suppliers and the company for bunkering operations, maintaining strong working relationships. <br>- Participate in LNG spill drills. <br>- Assume responsibility for equipment, including replacement, inventory and maintenance. <br>- Maintain professional relationships with equipment suppliers and seek alternative solutions to meet standards. <br>- Manage Arctic equipment, working with the technician to ensure its maintenance. <br>- Manage the Arctic budget (OPEX and CAPEX) and approve expenses related to operations. <br>- Manage equipment inventories at the beginning and end of the season, gathering feedback for improvements. <br>- Ensure the mobilization and demobilization of Arctic vessels, guaranteeing smooth operations. <br>- Maintain regular contact with Arctic vessels to optimize operations and anticipate risks. <br>- Keep abreast of regulations relating to Arctic trade and operations. <br>- Provide support to vessels and participate in site visits as required. <br>- Prepare key performance indicators in collaboration with commercial teams. <br>- Be responsible for spill exercises and pre-season training sessions. <br>- Identify infrastructure improvement opportunities for the ocean protection program. <br>- Assist in updating Arctic manuals.</p><p>Skills required: <br> <br>- Degree in navigation, marine engineering or relevant training with significant experience. <br>- Minimum 5 years experience on tankers as an officer/engineer. <br>- Understanding of mechanical equipment and systems, ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems. <br>- Experience in the Canadian Arctic is an asset. <br>- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder communication skills. <br>- Knowledge of marine operations, stevedoring and charter contracts. <br>- Good knowledge of ISGOT, ISM, ISO and TMSA standards. <br>- Ability to lead a team and inspire commitment. <br>- Initiative to identify possible improvements. <br>- Sense of priorities and ability to detect problems quickly. <br>- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment. <br>- Ability to solve problems effectively. <br>- Strong organizational and planning skills. <br>- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. <br>- Bilingual in French and
