Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a *Full Time Temporary EA4 - Occupational Therapist Assistant *at our Namao School. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist from the Learning Services team, to provide a full range of support services as part of the Specialized Programming at Namao School. The main focus is to assist students and teachers in addressing various needs affecting classroom participation and extending the services of the therapist. We are seeking a motivated individual who enjoys working with children and youth with developmental disabilities including complex physical, cognitive, and neurodevelopmental profiles. *Duties:* Implement therapeutic activities and program plans designed by Occupational Therapists for individuals and groups of children/students Report regularly to the supervising therapist Responsible for implementing effective programming to meet the needs of diverse learners, collaborate with teachers, educational assistants, learning support leads, therapists, and other SPS staff Develop materials related to varied programs/strategies as determined by the therapists Develop and maintain specific notes for therapists and the classroom team regarding students? progress and response to current program/strategies follow up through contact notes, progress notes, anecdotal observations and/or conversation Perform checks and maintenance of equipment and clean and organize materials Maintain technical knowledge and credentials through a range of professional development activities *Qualification & Experience:* Occupational Therapy Assistant Certificate/Diploma (or Occupational/Physical Therapy Assistant) Preference is given to applicants with experience and training with Specialized Programming in a school setting Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education, knowledge, skills and abilities to formal education requirements may be considered Familiarity with technology (Microsoft Office, apps, etc.) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated capacity to thrive both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment Proven ability to incorporate feedback effectively and adeptly manage competing priorities Understanding of division and school policies, Alberta Education curriculum and confidentiality Hours of Work: Hours of work are 35 hours per week Hourly Rate: $24.41 - $31.23 per hour as per the CUPE Collective Agreement *ABOUT STURGEON PUBLIC SCHOOLS * *Sturgeon Public Schools* prides itself on doing things a little differently.
