Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Post-secondary educational institution. Manufacturing or production. Tasks: Recommend measures to improve productivity . Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Set up machines and equipment. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Train or assist in the training of other workers. Supervise staff. Set up and operate automatic testing equipment to locate circuit and wiring faults, shorts and component defects. Prepare and submit progress and other reports. Inspect assemblies for alignment, symmetry, dimensions, fit and quality of workmanship. Develop flexible or integrated manufacturing systems and procedures. Complete inspection and test reports. Check mechanical assemblies and subassemblies for alignment and proper functioning. Build models. Assemble circuit breakers, switches or other electrical control equipment and position and fasten components into assembly casings. Assemble or connect electrical components. Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces. Install software and hardware and configure operating system software in preparation for testing. Print in 3D. Troubleshoot heating systems. Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment. Supervision: Electronics assemblers, fabricators, inspectors and testers. 5-10 people. Assemblers and inspectors, electrical appliance, apparatus and equipment manufacturing. Welding techniques: Laser. Specialized equipment and systems: Thermal infrared sensors. Exhibit preparation experience: Mounting/installing objects. Equipment and machinery experience: Soldering equipment. Laser levelling/aligning. Inspection or testing specialization: Electrical assemblies. Area of specialization: Optical alignment. Custom fabrication. Security and surveillance system. Screening questions: Are you currently legally able to work in Canada?. Do you have previous experience in this field of employment?. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
