No Frills is opening a new location in downtown Kelowna on November 28.
Okanagan Indian Band and Kode Contracting have partnered to open a new sand, gravel and rock quarry. The goal of the partnership is to create local careers and develop a profitable operation that will benefit the community.
A new contract with Waste Connections will integrate garbage collection for the entire South Okanagan, improving efficiency and sustainability. New equipment, including single compartment trucks will enable future transitions to food waste collection, which requires a new facility.
The federal and provincial governments and BC Transit are providing $91.3M to better connect four communities in B.C. including Kelowna, Langford, Victoria and Saanich. The funding supports three new enhanced transit exchanges in Kelowna and upgrades the centres in Victoria and Langford for a new training centre.
The federal, provincial, and local governments are providing $1.04M to provide five new buses to the BC Transit's Kelowna fleet.
