Resource Assistance for Youth (RAY) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young people in Winnipeg overcome challenges related to homelessness, poverty, and lack of opportunity. We provide a range of programs and services to empower youth, support their personal growth, and help them build better futures. As part of our commitment to fostering a positive and supportive work environment, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team.
*Position Overview*
The Human Resources Manager will lead and manage all human resources (HR) functions at RAY, ensuring that HR practices align with the organization's mission and objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruitment, employee relations, training and development, compensation, and compliance with labor laws. This position requires a highly organized, compassionate, and strategic individual who can foster a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
*Key Responsibilities*
1. *Recruitment and Staffing*
o Lead recruitment efforts by identifying staffing needs, developing job descriptions, and conducting interviews.
o Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, from job posting to onboarding of new employees.
o Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing requirements and provide support for team growth.
2. *Employee Relations*
o Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees, offering guidance and support on HR-related issues.
o Mediate and resolve conflicts, ensuring a respectful and positive workplace environment.
o Provide coaching and support to managers in handling sensitive employee matters.
3. *Training and Development*
o Assess training needs and develop, implement, and monitor training programs to foster employee development.
o Support the continuous professional growth of employees by promoting ongoing education and training opportunities.
o Ensure employees understand and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
4. *Compensation and Benefits*
o Manage the organization?s compensation structure and benefits programs.
o Provide guidance on salary and compensation practices to ensure fairness and alignment with industry standards.
o Oversee employee benefits administration and ensure employees have access to necessary support.
5. *Compliance and Reporting*
o Ensure compliance with employment laws, labor standards, and health and safety regulations in Manitoba.
o Maintain accurate HR records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
o Monitor and report on HR metrics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs.
6. *Culture and Employee Engagement*
o Foster an inclusive, supportive, and respectful work environment that promotes employee well-being.
o Lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.
o Support organizational change and growth while ensuring a strong alignment with RAY?s values and mission.
7. *Performance Management*
o Implement and oversee performance management systems, ensuring clear expectations and feedback.
o Assist with employee evaluations and the development of performance improvement plans.
o Promote a culture of accountability, continuous feedback, and professional growth.
*Qualifications*
· *Education*: Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; HR certification (CHRP, CHRL) preferred.
· *Experience*: Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

o Strong understanding of HR principles, employment law, and best practices.
