Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Type of materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Gas welding machine. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Structural construction. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Public transportation is not available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Overtime required. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots.
