*Responsibilities*
* Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
* Perform repairs on heavy equipment, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
* Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
* Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for repairs and maintenance tasks.
* Operate forklifts to move equipment as necessary during repair processes.
* Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on each piece of equipment.
* Adhere to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting and operating machinery.
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy equipment mainly Caterpillar.
* Strong understanding of Heavy Equipment repair principles and practices.
* Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
* Experience with electrical systems in heavy machinery is a plus.
* Proficient in using power tools and diagnostic equipment.
* Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* A valid driver's license may be required for this position.
