PACE Canada Development LP is moving forward with a 42,000-panel solar farm near Killam, following approval by the Alberta Utilities Commission.
The City of Lloydminster says it is on track to open its $101M hockey arena, the Cenovus Energy Hub, in fall of 2025.
Ermineskin Cree Nation and TIU Canada recently began construction on their $33 million Gleichen Solar Project. The new solar farm is expected to generate 13 megawatts of energy through approximately 32,000 solar panels. Construction is expected to be completed by March 2025.
Trans Canada Gold Corp. completed its first year of oil production from its Lloydminster wells. The company’s multilateral wells have produced over 75,861 barrels, surpassing the 75,000-barrel production benchmark. Trans Canada Gold has also acquired additional lands to expand its drilling opportunities for 2025 and continues to explore prospects in both Canada and the United States.
Trans Canada Gold Corp. in partnership with Precision Drilling has started drilling its second multi-lateral well near Lloydminster targeting conventional heavy oil formations.
Capital Power and Borea Construction have started work on the second phase of Halkirk 2 wind project east of Red Deer. Wind turbine assembly for the project is expected to finish before the end of October 2024 and commissioning is expected in December 2024.
