According to Interior Health, Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops hired nearly twice as many nurses from January to May in 2024 when compared to 2023. The hospital has hired 61 nurses this year, the most hired by Royal Inland Hospital in a year.

The homes include 24/7 staffing, meals, life-skills training, medical care and connections to community services. People will move into the Trailside Transitional Housing starting mid-May 2024.

BC Housing has selected non-profit operators for two temporary housing projects in Kelowna. The project is expected to provide 120 supportive homes for people experiencing homelessness. The homes are expected to be complete in Feburary and March 2024. The non-profit organizations will support services including 24/7 staffing, meals, and skills training.
